![]() The inventory is very simple, you only choose armor for your own character, although you can pick weapons and accessories for all of your companions, as well as yourself. It's true that much has been trimmed (streamlined, dumbed down the term you pick depends on your expectations going in). ![]() That said, I still find the story interesting, even compelling. The story is perhaps a bit sparser than in other (BioWare) games, or at least much more focused and small scale: it's about YOUR character, not about EVERYTHING. It's face paced, exciting, with enough story and emotional turmoil to fill in the gaps. The story is perhaps a bit sparser I like the game. If you are a fan of rpgs and most particularly if you enjoyed the first game, I implore you to play this game: you will not regret it. Please, if you are considering buying this game, do not be put off by the overtly harsh criticism on this site and do so. In fact, it makes perfect sense for the story which is being portrayed. Another complaint stems from the fact that the majority of the game is played within it's boundaries but this is by no means a bad thing. The graphics are, as expected, a considerable improvement and the scale of Kirkwall is impressive. Furthermore, the characters are equally as funny, original and likeable as they were in the original - with the exception of maybe Morrigan (a favourite of mine). The story is gripping and the character dynamics and interaction is as superb as it was in the original but with the vast improvement of a fully voiced character. ![]() Can I remind you that the sole difference there is that now rather than simply pressing A once and having the character automatically attack, you now do so yourself. There seems to be a theme arising that people believe it is more like a button basher now. It's fluid, it's faster and ultimately, it's more exciting. Remember people this is the Xbox 360 version we are reviewing and as a console version, it's fighting mechanics have been vastly improved. The action and fighting dynamics have seriously been improved. The pacing is much faster and more exciting, whilst keeping the focus of the narrative throughout - something Origins failed to do at times (there's a Blight going on?). I loved Origins and I feel no hesitation in stating that I believe DA2 is a much improved game. I have not been disappointed and I fail to see where and why all the user criticism spawns from on this page. I am by no means a simple fan boy and would have been bitterly disappointed had I not thought Bioware had put the same level of skill and commitment into the sequel. I completed Origins and poured over 112 hours into the game. Having now played for around 10 hours I can say with a measured opinion that it has met and surpassed all my expectations. Having now played for around 10 hours I can say with a measured opinion that it has met and Dragon Age II is an astoundingly good game. But I sincerely hope to see a second season of Absolution soon.Dragon Age II is an astoundingly good game. The project is somewhat lost against the background of Arcane and The Legend of Vox Machina. The artists at Reddog Culture House did a great job: the backgrounds, drawing, shadows, lights, reflections, character movements - look VERY BEAUTIFUL. Nice character design and most importantly the drawing and animation. I'll start with the shortcomings: the plot is not very entertaining - a very unsophisticated story, I think that the robbery story could have been presented MUCH more interesting - the scriptwriters don't manage it.Īnd of course Netflix SJV, of course 4 out of 5 main characters are homosexuals)) In some scenes you can notice static shots and characters faces (I guess they tried to save on animation here because of the small budget).Īnd there are only 6 episodes, and I wish there were at least 10-12.Īnd now to the pluses: there's a very interesting setting - really like D&D fantasy. I'm not at all familiar with the Dragon Age series, which may be why I'm not as critical of this show. This series was a very pleasant surprise.
